NEDSTAT INTRODUCES MEASUREMENT OF STREAMING MEDIA
London, 3 April 2002 -- With the introduction of Sitestat 4.1, Nedstat is the first in the world to measure streaming media on websites and integrate this information with other visitor data. Fifteen standard report items and the possibility to extend this number according to specific requirements , allows Sitestat to deliver extensive information about the use of audio and video transmissions on websites. Nedstat herewith provides its clients with a solution in response to the growing use of streaming media in online communication.
The new 'Streaming Media module offers a complete analysis of the use of streaming media by website visitors. It provides answers to questions like how many visitors start the audio or video stream? How long do they watch or listen? How often do they click on 'play, 'pause or 'stop? What is the quality of the reception?
Combined with the other Sitestat visitor data, a wealth of additional information becomes available. It is possible to determine, for instance, if the online sales of a particular CD increase after visitors have listened to it online. Or whether visitors return to a website more often after they have seen a video.
Nedstat expects that the new 'Streaming Media module will attract a lot of interest. 'The interest will come from various sectors says Michael Kinsbergen, Nedstats CEO. 'We see streaming media being used for, for instance, a financial presentation by a CEO, an introduction of a new car or a live webcast of a football match. Users of our new module will certainly not be from the media sector only.
The strong growth in the use of streaming media, lead Nedstat to make the decision to provide its clients with a solution. Kinsbergen: 'The speed with which we were able to develop this new module shows the flexibility and power of the Sitestat platform and proves that with the Sitestat 4 architecture we can react to market developments in a very efficient way.
Bookmarks
Sitestat 4.1 also provides new insight into the use of 'bookmarks by visitors. The new report item 'most popular bookmarks measures how often web pages are being added to the 'favorites of visitors. In addition, the measurement of visitor loyalty has been improved. For every visitor, it is now determined if they are visiting the site for the first time or if they have been there before.
The introduction of Sitestat 4 in December of last year has been well received. This is one of the main reasons for Nedstats substantial growth in sales and strong improvement in its operating result in the first three months of 2002. Nedstat expects a continuation of these favourable developments for the entire year 2002.
