CAPITAL ACCESS DELIVERS ENHANCED 2001 YEAR-END INSURANCE COMPANY HOLDINGS AND TRANSACTION DATA

Following its annual portfolio-by-portfolio review and reconciliation of the year-end Schedule D bondholdings data filed by U.S. insurance companies, Capital Access International reported to its clients that it has released 3,091 portfolio filings which were reported by U.S. insurance companies in their year-end 2001 filings. This information represents nearly 80% of the total universe of insurance firms that are rated by AM Best and that will ultimately file year-end portfolios, and also represents over 75% total par held by U.S. insurance companies.

Salomon Smith Barney Ranks as Top Broker/Dealer Among U.S. Insurance Companies

      April 3, 2002, Murray Hill, NJ -- Following its annual portfolio-by-portfolio review and reconciliation of the year-end Schedule D bondholdings data filed by U.S. insurance companies, Capital Access International reported to its clients that it has released 3,091 portfolio filings which were reported by U.S. insurance companies in their year-end 2001 filings. This information represents nearly 80% of the total universe of insurance firms that are rated by AM Best and that will ultimately file year-end portfolios, and also represents over 75% total par held by U.S. insurance companies. All data is available via eMAXXsm -- the Companys powerful market data intelligence system.

In addition to the release of Year-End Data, Capital Access is also announcing the release of The Capital Access Top 100 Broker Rankings for fourth quarter 2001. These quarterly rankings are based on insurance company Schedule D filings and reflect the top 100 broker/dealers ranked according to the total dollar par amount of buy/sell transactions conducted each quarter with American insurance companies. Also released was The Capital Access Top 100 Institutional Holders Rankings, a ranking of the leading buyside firms managing insurance company fixed-income portfolios.
