FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Ashland, OR ----- April 5th -- The Ashland Gallery Association (AGA) is pleased to announce the Eighth Annual "A Taste of Ashland" (ATOA). The event will be held Saturday and Sunday, April 21st and 22nd, 2002 from noon to 4:00pm. The event includes artwork showcased by participating galleries of local and national artists who embrace our northwest culture. To make the event even more fulfilling the AGA invites Ashlands prestigious restaurants, bakeries, wineries, breweries, and coffee roasting companies to share their culinary delights. The event is held in Ashland, nestled in the beautiful Rogue Valley region of southwest Oregon. This year's events will include 18 galleries; 25 restaurants and other food providers; and 18 wineries and other beverage providers.
ATOA is a walking tour of Ashlands city center where AGA galleries invite local food and beverage businesses to present their toothsome wares. Participants can enjoy the visual arts as they walk through Ashland Plaza, Uptown Ashland, and the Historic Railroad District. The city of Ashland is easily accessible, and transportation is provided between galleries.
Ashland is the home of the world-renowned Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) which provides award-winning performances of plays by Shakespeare, as well as classic and contemporary playwrights. (http://www.orshakes.org)
Tickets purchased in advance are only $22.50 each per day or $35.00 each for both days. Tickets will also be sold the day of the event for $25.00 a day, or $45.00 for both days. The price is the same for children and adults, and you must be 21 or older with photo ID to participate in wine and beer tasting. Participants will also receive a commemorative poster, wine glass, the AGAs annual Gallery Guide, and new ATOA Event Guide that includes detailed descriptions of food and beverage providers.
