The day after the 1996 Olympic bombing in Atlanta, GA was the first day on the job for Bill Avery at Coca-Colas Olympic City. He had been brought in by a worldwide leader in the insurance industry to provide loss control services for the public attractions provided by Coca-Cola.
This tragedy is what prompted Bill Avery to write the book Emergency Disaster Guidelines & Procedures. Immediately subsequent to the September 11th terrorist attacks, Mr. Avery revisited the book and included additional chapters concerning terrorism and security issues.
Just coming out in its second edition, Emergency Disaster Guidelines & Procedures intends to be a guidebook that focuses on the general protection of people and property. The purpose of the book is to provide and organized and managed system in an attempt to effectively meet emergencies and minimize the disruption of business operations. The book addresses crowd management issues, bomb threats, terrorism, natural disasters, evacuation, press procedures and many other topics associated directly or indirectly with emergency disaster planning.
Mr. Avery is an Internationally recognized safety professional and has taught numerous courses on the subject of emergency & disaster planning including crowd management. Bill Avery has over twenty-five years of professional safety experience in large capacity venues.
