Sharon, MA -- April 12, 2002 - Only one of two employees believes that their organization has done a good job of providing them with the training they need to do their job well, according to surveys conducted by The Discovery Group, a management consulting firm specializing in assessing employee opinions.
This result is based upon studies conducted in 56 organizations during the past several years. More than 50,000 employees were surveyed from a variety of U.S.-based manufacturing and service organizations.
"Without adequate training, employees become frustrated and the quality of the organizations products and services suffer," says Dr. Bruce Katcher, an Industrial/Organizational psychologist and author of the study.
Dr. Katcher adds, "Management must view training as an important business investment." This and other suggestions are explained more fully in a report titled "Employees Say They Need More Training" that can be accessed on the web at http://www.DiscoverySurveys.com/articles/itw-25.htm.
