parvus CEO Troy Takach Reelected To Embedded PC/104 Consortium Board

parvus founder maintains leadership role at computer industry standards group

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - April 10, 2002 - parvus Corporation today announced that chief executive officer and founder Troy Takach has been reelected to the board of directors for the Embedded PC/104 Consortium.

The Consortium, supported by thousands of companies worldwide, is the governing trade association for PC/104 computer technology, an embedded PC-compatible circuit board standard commonly used in aviation, industrial, medical, and military electronics.

Takach has served as a member of the executive committee for the Consortium since 1995 - the same year parvus Corp. gained executive membership in the association. Through his tenure, Takach has lent his technical expertise to the Consortium furthering the worldwide adoption of PC/104, the only stackable, embedded computer architecture today.

"The Embedded PC/104 Consortium has been instrumental in guiding PC/104 into global recognition, and it has been my privilege to help the Consortium fulfill that mission," Takach said. "I fully expect PC/104 products to continue to experience steady growth for the foreseeable future. Whether for a robotic arm, factory line, cockpit computer, heart monitor, or electronic warfare device, PC/104 will play a significant role in embedded computer hardware."

Maintained by the Consortium, the PC/104 and PC/104-plus specifications are characterized by their small form-factor (3.550" x 3.775"), reduced power consumption, and stackable ISA and PCI bus connectors. Leveraging the same readily available development tools used with personal desktop computers, PC/104 and PC/104-plus technology dramatically improves time-to-market for embedded systems development.

Since 1983, Takach has been the founder and chief engineer of parvus, the longest running ISO-9001 certified company in Utah. He serves as the vice-chairman for the Utah Governor's State Advisory Council for Science and Technology and board member for the Utah Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP).
