Superior design, performance, and cost savings add up to Aeronics Spirit series SCSI terminators.
East/West Manufacturing Enterprises, Inc. releases its new Aeronics Spirit series of SCSI Ultra160 / 320 Low Voltage / Single ended auto-mode terminators.
Austin, Texas -- (February 2002) -- East/West Manufacturing Enterprises, Inc. has released its new Aeronics SCSI (Small Computer Systems Interface) Spirit series of multi-mode Low Voltage / Single Ended terminators, (LVD/SE). These terminators are in full compliance with ANSI, SFF and EIA specifications and continue the highest engineering standards set over the years by Aeronics, Inc.
Initial releases includes wide 68 position units in external high density, internal IDC and socket, as well as VHCDI that offers one of the smallest form factors in the industry allowing 4 connectors in the space of one PCI card thus enabling two side-by-side 2 ports and allowing cards to support the maximum number of SCSI drives.
These terminators combat the problem of backward compatibility by allowing the use of older technology Single Ended active negation peripherals while adopting newer high speed Low Voltage Differential, and they do it automatically, no jumpers to set or disable. Systems upgrades can be done gradually at your own discretion and within budget constraints.
All units are compliant with Ultra2, Ultra3, Ultra160, and Ultra320 in LVD mode, as well as SCSI-1, Fast SCSI, and Ultra SCSI standards in the SE mode (will expand to 640 MB/sec in the future). When ordered with our tri-color LED option, these units give instant visual indication of the bus mode. They effectively shut down when a high voltage differential device is on the bus. When coupled with the TF1600105 ALT-2AN SE series, the systems integrator or builder is offered a low cost diagnostic tool to accurately determine the bus mode, i.e. SE, LVD, or HVD as well as verification of proper termination, with the added bonus since they are also cost effective terminators, they can be shipped with the systems for continued bus status verification.
East/West Manufacturing Enterprises, Inc., formerly Aeronics, Inc., has maintained headquarters in Austin Texas since 1980. We have provided SCSI solutions to several major OEMs, e.g. IBM, SUN, HP, and Unisys to name a few, with termination fixes since 1989. Through a joint development agreement with IBM, we developed the first reliable and cost effective FPT terminator, still widely viewed as the problem solver to difficult or otherwise unworkable SCSI systems. Over the years on time delivery, six sigma level quality and the highest reliability have been successfully maintained. Our terminators have also speeded up data delivery for several newspapers, ATMs, banks, and medical diagnostics, and our own Army and Navy. We have also been instrumental in solving critical computer interface problems on board NASA Space Shuttles.
