"THANK YOU, GOOD NIGHT" Wins Jury Prize

Tambay Film Festival awards feature film by Chuck Griffith

Tampa, FL--Tambay Film and Video Festival presented "Thank You, Good Night" and its
filmmaker, Chuck Griffith, the 2002 Jury Prize of Best Feature Film on
Sunday, April 7th. The festival's second annual awards ceremony at the
Channelside Cinemas Theaters hosted over sixty films for four days that were
up for several considerations and categories at this year's competition.

The feature film is a directorial debut by Chuck Griffith and was executive
produced by Brandon Lyons and Scott Burkhardt. "Thank You, Good Night" was
co-written by Griffith, Chris Provenzano and Robert Zimmer Jr. The film is a
comedy/drama about "The Handy Kaufmans," a band of twenty-something's living
in New Jersey in 1994, struggling to secure a record deal in the wake of
Kurt Cobain's death. After a four year effort, the group decides to go on
the road for the first time in a last ditch effort to succeed. Along the
way, they experience internal trials and tribulations, constantly
questioning their talent and one another.

The pic stars Christian Campbell ("Trick"), Lara Boyd Rhodes ("La Femme
Nikita"), J.P. Pitoc ("Trick"), Jay Leggett ("In Living Color"), Scott
Burkhardt, Nicole Eggert ("Baywatch"), Sally Kirkland ("Anna") and Mark
Hamill ("Star Wars"). "TYGN" marks a reunion for Campbell and Pitoc who
co-starred in Fine Line's "Trick" which drew universal raves from critics
and audiences. The film was completed for a budget just under a million
dollars.

"We are so thrilled that we not only completed our first feature film, but
that we are now able to share it with audiences through film festivals that
support the kind of fun and creative vision our project represents," says
Lyons, who will be attended the festival and ceremony.

Griffith, who resides in Los Angeles, in a shocked response, claimed that
"Thank You, Good Night" will be the only film that he will be taking a "film
by" credit for now on as a director. "I have learned in the process of
filmmaking that many people work so hard to make a vision happen, I may lead
that vision, but I do not own it. Everyone who was involved with this film
deserves to share this award. I will not be taking a possessive credit on
any future projects because everyone works to make it happen," proclaimed
Griffith in his acceptance speech.

Two years in the making, the 35mm 104 minute comedy premiered at the Durango
Film Festival in early March, and has played at the Fargo Film Festival. "I
'm thrilled to have been a part of the diverse spectrum of films at Tambay,"
says Griffith, 26, "It's nice to see the festival embracing the feel good
nature of our film. Tampa is a beautiful city and would love to shoot here
someday." Griffith said his vision for the project, which he also
fundraised the budget of $900,000 from private investors across the United
States, was to bring elements of classical cinema and post-modernism
together in the same vein of Billy Wilder and Mike Nichols. He also
dedicated the award to Wilder who passed away about two weeks ago was known
for directing such films as "Some Like it Hot" and "The Apartment".

The film has submitted to over 100 festivals and is awaiting word on many of
them. "We offer a great feel-good film that brings everyone of all ages to
festivals," said Griffith on why he hopes his film will continue to gain
momentum in a world where more and more commercial films are making their
way into the major festivals, leaving the little guys out cold. "I truly
believe I made incredible contacts from around the globe this weekend and
hope to see many again at other festivals who support this kind of truly
independent programming," Griffith said, "And I am astonished at the hard
work of every volunteer who has worked countless hours to rally behind such
a great event."

Chuck Griffith is represented by the literary agency The Irv Schechter Company
and the law firm of Armstrong, Hirsch, Jackoway, Tyerman, and Wertheimer.
