LAS VEGAS, April 8, 2002-- Convergent Media Systems, the leading provider of high-quality eLearning and communications networks and services, will demonstrate the industrys most complete end-to-end content development and distribution solution this week at the National Association of Broadcasters Show, Stand #S5872, in Las Vegas.

Convergent will highlight its Content Delivery Network, which combines the ability to create, manage, transport and distribute broadcast-quality video and media-rich communications across the extended enterprise. Convergent will demonstrate delivery of traditional broadcast, IP video and data communications, and eLearning applications over a single network. Convergents Content Delivery Network is engineered to provide delivery of data and video content in multiple formats, including Real, QuickTime, Windows Media Player, MPEG1, MPEG2 and MPEG4, and at encoding rates from 28kbps to 4Mbs or above.

The Content Delivery Network also provides intelligent routing and transport over satellite or broadband terrestrial networks. Upon receipt, MPEG video content can be routed directly in NTSC/PAL formats to TVs or plasma displays, and cached in IP format in video servers at the edge of the network. The cached content can then be made available for delivery over the LAN directly to the desktop via IP multicasting for live broadcasts or via unicasting for on-demand access. This flexibility allows enterprise customers to receive live and on-demand video-powered communications at any speed, anywhere within their organizations.

Convergents full suite of services includes eLearning curriculum design, content development and management tools, broadcast-quality studio and production services, network engineering, installation, maintenance and support services. By enabling delivery of high-quality video to TVs, desktops, laptops and kiosks, Convergent multiplies the reach and effectiveness of eLearning and corporate communications.
