More people are choosing an independent workstyle than ever before," said Bob Watkins, co-founder of Free Agent Events. Many more would like to do so, but dont know how. We wanted to bring these two groups together and help them find tools and reliable information to excel, grow and find new opportunities.
"Participants will have the opportunity to meet other free agents and develop strategic relationships. In addition, the conference will launch a local network of independent freelancers, consultants and contract employees to help them share information, collaborate effectively and find new work more easily in the future.
The conference features keynote presentations by two authors who write about issues affecting consultants. Dan Pink is the author of FREE AGENT NATION, the controversial and acclaimed book that chronicles the first census of free agency in the U.S. He will discuss what he learned from FREE AGENT NATION and sign copies of the newly released paperback edition, which includes additional resources for free agents.
The second keynote speaker, James R. Ziegler, Ph.D., writes extensively on contract employment issues and will contribute his insights on the trends helping and threatening free agency. In his presentation, Ziegler will explain how recent contract disputes in Hollywood may soon affect contract employment elsewhere. The conference also features presentations by a variety of local specialists and experts who have experience in the field of consulting.
