BOCA RATON, Fla. ---- General Defense Systems, Inc. [OTC: GNDF], a provider of comprehensive security and remote surveillance solutions for agencies of the United States government, municipalities and private sector corporations, today announced the formation of its Advisory Board with the appointments of Nicholas G. Abaid, Frank Fawcett, and Retired Admiral George (Gus) E.R. Kinnear, II, Ph.D. Additionally, John P. Carty has been named General Defense Systems (GDS) vice president of sales and marketing.

Commenting on the formation of the GDS Advisory Board, CEO and President David Frank said, These influential and highly respected individuals from government and private industry will provide strategic consultation on company growth and product development, facilitating introductions to key decision makers within agencies of the Federal Government, the Department of Defense, the Federal Aviation Agency and Fortune 500 companies and others.

With renewed vigilance regarding homeland security -- both in public and private sectors, these Advisory Board members will play a key role in helping GDS position its services to meet marketplace demand and expectations," continues Frank.

Nicholas G. Abaid has served as director of Business Development for Security Solutions for Graphco Technologies Inc., Newtown, Pa., since June 1999. His knowledge of security is built on 28 years as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). During his tenure with the FBI, Abaid was involved in some of the agency's most important cases in International Terrorism, and Foreign Counterintelligence Investigations. He has worked closely with US intelligence, US counterintelligence, and foreign intelligence and law enforcement organizations and has lectured extensively on security requirements of private industries and governmental entities involved in sensitive and classified research and development. Abaid's background includes serving as a Naval Officer from 1965-68, and as an executive with Chemical Bank, New York.

Frank Fawcett brings to GDS more than 20 years experience as a corporate troubleshooter for Fortune 500 companies in defense and private industries. He has provided interrelated problem solving for various government agencies in the areas of logistics, strategic planning, operations materials management, national/international marketing research, analysis and intelligence.

Four-star Admiral George (Gus) E.R. Kinnear II (ret.) is currently Chairman of the Board of technology solution provider eVelocity Corporation. During his distinguished military career, Dr. Kinnear served as the US Member of the NATO Military Committee, Brussels, Belgium. He had commanded the Naval Air Force US Atlantic Fleet and served as Chief of Legislative Affairs, Department of the Navy, Assistant Chief of Naval Personnel and Assistant Comptroller of the Navy. Dr. Kinnear holds a Ph.D. in Engineering Management.

In a concurrent announcement, David Frank appointed John P. Carty, vice president of Sales and Marketing. John brings to GDS over 20 years experience in providing business solutions through technology across a wide variety of products and platforms," states Frank. With the addition of Carty and Vern Mayhew, director of operations, the GDS senior management team has nearly three quarters of a century of experience in the security and surveillance industry."
