Salt Lake Silver Ring Co. (SLSR Co.) goes full speed at the growing Internet shopping market with a new, secure Internet site. Designed in house, the site features unique jewelry designs of SLSR Co. and hopes to expand its reach into the niche market of designer silver rings.

     A new website launched by a silver jewelry company was unveiled on April 15th, 2002. Salt Lake Silver Ring Co., a jewelry design company located in Salt Lake City, UT, recently hired a staff to put their jewelry offerings onto the information highway. The decision to undertake the design in house was an important one. We wanted to have artistic influence with the site as we do with the jewelry, to present the product consistently.," says SLSR Co. owner Jonathan Mauer. There was more work involved above simply having a web site design firm do it for us, but we feel it was worth the effort. The site really reflects the companies image."

     The company has been in business for 10 years, selling its unique designs to retailers such as Nordstroms and QVC. The Internet has opened the doors to understanding the customers needs and wants, which was not available to the company before. The Internet presents an opportunity to small companies like us to channel the product ideas to the customer that uses it, instead of relying on buyers opinions", the owner said.
    
     But taking a business from a wholesale concern to a retail operation has its challenges. Yet the owner is confident that his business can adapt. We are aware of retail customers expectations; basically they want it now", says Mauer.
