Vital Source Technologies, Inc. Reaches Licensing Agreement with Gold Standard Multimedia

Agreement will provide rich and dynamic medical curriculum content to medical schools, health sciences universities and their students.

Raleigh, NC--In its continuing effort to provide more options for customers and to further broaden its client base, Vital Source Technologies, Inc. (VSTi) has reached an agreement with Gold Standard Multimedia (GSM) to license content from GSMs Integrated Medical Curriculum, an online, core collection of innovative medical education programs.

According to Matt Harris, VSTis vice president of business development, the agreement enables both VTSi and GSM to broaden their client bases by making GSMs Integrated Medical Curriculum available to a wider audience via VSTi Key technology. VSTi expects to deliver the Integrated Medical Curriculum to VSTi Key users for the start of the 2003 academic year.

This agreement is a milestone for Vital Source Technologies and Gold Standard Multimedia," says Harris, noting that this is the first time GSM has licensed one of its course offerings for conversion from HTML to a proprietary media.

Our partnership with GSM is a leap into true dynamic content," says Harris.

The Integrated Medical Curriculum is just one part of GSMs overall content base, which consists of electronic medical education programs that support and complement the major courses taught in medical schools and health sciences universities.

Students accessing GSMs Integrated Medical Curriculum coursework with VSTis dynamic Key application will be able to access specific content matter with VSTis context-sensitive search environment. For example, students studying human anatomy using the GSM coursework with the VSTi Key will experience an enhanced learning environment beyond anything currently available in either textbooks or on the web," says Harris.

Plans call for VSTi to license additional GSM content, which will further enhance VSTi offerings. Harris notes that future offerings could also include Head and Neck Dental Anatomy, which contains images of anatomy, including color-coded illustrations and gross photographs, plus numerous clinical animations.

Our goal is to deliver outstanding medical content, such as that produced by GSM, in an interactive and customizable form," Harris notes, in order to enhance both the teaching and learning environments."
