Virtual Organization of Distinguished Life Science and Medical Professionals Reaches Major Milestone

ARLINGTON, VA -- April 18, 2002 -- On April 18, 2002, http://www.scienceboard.net/" target="_new">The Science Advisory Board reached a major milestone by welcoming its 10,000th member. The Science Advisory Board is a vibrant community of professionals interested in shaping the future of science and medicine. Board members convene electronically to participate in online conferences, surveys, and discussions addressing issues of importance to their individual areas of investigation and/or clinical specialties.

The mission of The Science Advisory Board is to give individual researchers and health care professionals a prominent voice to express their opinions on the tools and techniques of their professions. Individually, it is often hard for one person's opinion to make a difference, but collectively through The Science Advisory Board, it is possible for individuals to exert tremendous influence. The power of the Internet provides a medium for communicating with the life sciences industry about their products on a scale that has never before been possible.

Given the competitive nature of the life science industry, companies are turning to The Science Advisory Board for help in developing and positioning their products and technologies for success," states Dr. Tamara Zemlo, Director of Scientific & Medical Communications at The Science Advisory Board. During the month of April 2002, The Science Advisory Board will be commenting on the following tools and techniques of http://www.scienceboard.net/" target="_new">drug discovery research: bioinformatics, sequencing, NMR, DNA microarrays, bioassays and high throughput screening.
