Writer's Digest Magazine has released their fourth annual 101 Best Web Sites For Writers for 2002.

While that is not anything out of the ordinary, the fact that a local small town person has been named as one of those Top 101 sites is.

Buna, Texas---Writer's Digest Magazine has released their fourth annual 101 Best Web Sites For Writers for 2002. While that is not anything out of the ordinary, the fact that a local small town person has been named as one of those Top 101 sites is.

Cindy Thomas, of Buna,Texas has the honor of having one of her sites, Author Mania (http://www.authormania.com) as one of the lucky few to be chosen for this top honor. She writes under the pen name of Elisha Charles on the site.

Not only is the list posted to the Writer's Digest web site (http://www.writersdigest.com), the list is also the hot topic of the May 2002 issue of the print magazine.

There are some requirements that must be met in order to be included in the Top 101. Among the standards necessary are that the site must have current information, have value to writers, provide useful help and/or instruction to writers. There are many wonderful sites that never make it, while others might make it for more than one year.

In January, Cindy took over as Editor of Author Mania, beginning on a journey she had not yet traveled. She began writing articles about the craft of writing, writing inspirational and inspiring pieces, throwing in a touch of humor as she wrote. Little did she know that four months later, she'd have the honor of being one of the top sites on the web for writing.

Perhaps the most surprising part of being named to this prestigious list is that Cindy would sit down to write, having little idea of what she was writing about. Writing strictly from what she perceived as the way to write interestingly, she'd bang out an article, post it to the site, and start on another one. Having read her share of novels that were just plain boring, she sought to teach other writers how to liven up their stories.

Being named as one of the Top 101 sites came as a shock to Cindy, having never expected it. Armed with the knowledge that she can make a difference to hopeful authors, she is setting out to add more content to her site, hoping to help others find those magic words that capture readers.

Cindy is married to John Thomas, who she considers her inspiration, and is mom to two sons. She is the Editor of several online ezines, such as AuthorMania.com and FrugalSimplicity.com.
