- Science and Red Herring magazines to co-sponsor event -

London (Monday 22nd April 2002) - The World Technology Network, a global association of the world's most innovative technologists has announced today that Science and Red Herring are amongst the media co-sponsors for the 2002 World Technology Summit & Awards.

Science is renowned as the world's most prestigious, peer-reviewed science journal, featuring news of recent international developments and research in all fields of science. Red Herring is the leading business publication providing in-depth analysis on the forces driving innovation-technology, entrepreneurialism and the financial markets.

James Clark, founder and Chairman of the World Technology Network, commented:
"We are delighted that both Science and Red Herring magazines will be    supporting the 2002 World Technology Summit & Awards. Each is the leading authority in their arena, they also share WTN's goal of recognising and bringing together those individuals and companies viewed by their own peers, as being the leaders of their field. "

Dr. Donald Kennedy, editor-in-chief of the journal, Science, added:
" We view the World Technology Summit & Awards as a powerful channel for us to keep in contact with those individuals and organisations whose work is already influencing - or set to influence the shape of things to come in the Science world."

The World Technology Summit & Awards will take place on July 21-22, 2002 at the Millennium Conference Center (Millennium Broadway Hotel), with an additional event being held at United Nations headquarters. The two-day World Technology Summit is a "catalyst" event aimed at stimulating new thoughts and opening up new opportunities amongst the World Technology Network's 400+ members from 34 countries, each of whom have been identified by their peers as being the best of the best.

About World Technology Network
The World Technology Network was created to "encourage serendipity" - happy accidents - amongst those individuals and companies deemed by their peers to be the most innovative in the technology world. WTN's areas of interest range from IT and communications to biotech, energy, materials, space, as well as related fields such as finance, marketing, policy, law, design, and ethics. Each year, WTN members are brought together through an ongoing global series of Roundtable Dinners, Chapter Meetings and other events. WTN also publishes "World Technology Intelligence", a bi-monthly journal about what is imminent, possible, and important in the technology world, written largely by its own members - the people driving the most significant innovations. Central events in the WTN calendar include the annual World Technology Summit and World Technology Awards - the culmination of a global judging programme through which new members are nominated and selected and by which the network grows and is refreshed.
