Minneapolis, Minn, March 7, 2002.--- As our world seems to be changing daily, the Brave New Workshop (BNW) Comedy Theatre founded by Dudley Riggs in 1958, is pleased to once again focus its attention on the good ol U.S. of A. with the companys 239th comedy revue, "Bushwhacked II: One Nation, Under Stress". The show is scheduled to preview April 4, open April 11, and close June 15, 2002.
"Bushwhacked II: One Nation, Under Stress" takes a hilarious and upbeat look at how we are redefining what it means to be an American. In examining this new type of patriotism, the show will explore all aspects of the new Americana, including the Bush mystique," patriotic rage, and our countrys newfound understanding of Lee Greenwood. Relying heavily on the political satire and parody that has long been a foundation for BNW shows, Bushwhacked promises to give voice to the life, liberty and pursuit of the Axis of Evil that has ended nationwide political apathy and created an obsession for a man living in a cave. Through it all, Bushwhacked II holds fast to BNWs belief that even during The War on Terrorism, our nations sense of humor will not become a casualty.
Creating and performing "Bushwhacked II: One Nation, Under Stress" are audience favorites Dan Hetzel, Nick Knudson, Katy McEwen, Tim Uren and Shanan Wexler. Once again, Caleb McEwen is directing and Peter Guertin is battling the hymns of the Republic from his piano pit. Tech direction is in the capable hands of Nate Melcher.
Show times for "Bushwhacked II: One Nation, Under Stress" are Thursdays and Fridays at 8 p.m., and Saturdays at 7:30 and 10 p.m. Ticket prices are $15 on Thursday, $19 on Friday, $22 at 7:30 p.m. and $19 at 10:00 p.m. on Saturdays.
