FINANCIAL ISSUES AND MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES FOCUS OF VSCPA INDUSTRY CONFERENCE IN WILLIAMSBURG

Richmond (April 24, 2002) -- Designed to meet the fast-paced needs of financial practitioners in specialized industries, the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA) First-Ever Industry Conference will provide the latest information on financial issues, government standards, management strategies, the impact of technology on business and more.

Slated for May 20-21 at the Williamsburg Marriott Hotel in Williamsburg, Va. the event features talks by David Martin of Martin Branding Worldwide, Inc., a renowned author and expert in the field of advertising and marketing, and Leonard Vincent, AMS, a seasoned business executive with over 30 years leadership and management experience in acquisition, supply chain management, logistics and financial management.

Other sessions include updates on topics such as the Federal Accounting Standards Board (FASB) standards; corporate tax issues; fraud and embezzlement; labor and employment law; enterprise risk management; and working with numbers using the XML-based technologies.

The conference runs from 8:30 a.m. to 5:20 p.m. on May 20 and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 21. The cost, including breakfast, lunch and a networking reception, is just $329 for VSCPA members and $429 for nonmembers before May 1. After May 1, the event costs $349 for members and $449 for nonmembers.
