Component Software Releases New Version of E-Qube(TM)
Added Functionality Enables Graphic Artists to Add Pizzazz to Web sites, Enhance Competitive Advantage

Phoenix, Arizona, April 22, 2002 - Component Software, Inc. announced today the release of a new version of its flagship product, e-Qube(TM), a software component for non-programmers, like graphic artists, who want to develop eye-catching Web sites and interactivity. The original version of e-Qube was a simulated, rotating 3D cube that allowed designers to embed hyperlinks and display graphics, photos, text, or gif animations on its sides. This new release of e-Qube adds more shapes as well as the ability to review the configured shape from any Web editor before publishing to a Web site.

"Over the last few months, we listened carefully to our customers about their experience with e-Qube. This new version reflects what we heard," said Walter Mack, president of Component Software. "Users told us they wanted more shapes for their animations and more ways to integrate e-Qube into their Web sites. We also learned that in this competitive business environment, graphic designers must differentiate themselves from the competition. We believe e-Qube helps them do just that."

Beta testers were enthusiastic about the product's new functionality. "I'm impressed with the ease of use of the applet ," said Paul J. Couture of COI Computers. "This configuration tool is laid out quite nicely, and it's easy to navigate and understand all aspects of creating an e-Cube shape from this tool." Robert Seymour, technical support manager at AZLink Internet Services agrees. "E-Qube is wonderful! It is simple to understand and very easy to use," said Seymour. "If you want to add some pizzazz to your Web pages, this is the way to do it."

New Version of e-Qube Adds Shapes, Ability to Review from Web Editor
With this new release, e-Qube, users can now:

  • Use e-Qube's configuration applet to create a cylinder, diamond, or pyramid, along with the original cube shape. Using the configuration screen, the designer configures each side of the selected shape with a photo, text, and/or link, and then specifies desired movement, such as tumbling mode and speed of rotation.

  • Easily view their creation by copying it into their clipboard and pasting it into any Web editor, including Macromedia Dreamweaver(R) and HomeSite(TM), Microsoft FrontPage(TM), and Adobe GoLive(R), before publishing it to their Web site.

Three Versions Support Different Levels of Use
E-Qube is available in three downloadable versions that support different levels of use:

  • The Personal Edition, for a limited number of Web sites, is available for $29.95.
  • Released in June 2001, the Professional Edition provides unlimited use without upgrades for $129.95.
  • The Subscription Edition, also released in June, provides unlimited use with free upgrades for one year and priority technical support is priced at $229.25.

A CD-ROM version of e-Qube is available for each edition for an additional $5.00. For more information, visit www.e-qube.com. Visitors can download a free Promotional Edition of e-Qube, with one side displaying the e-Qube logo and Web site link.
