Awesome 2 Celebrate 20th Anniversary

The Awesome 2, Special K & Teddy Ted, two of hip-hop's most famous DJ's are celebrating their 20th year in hip-hop music with a host of activities including a national tour.

New York, NY - April 18, 2002 - The Awesome 2, Special K & Teddy Tedd, two pioneers of hip-hop music and culture, are celebrating 20 years in hip-hop this year. To kick-off this milestone in their career, theyre planning several events throughout the year including a tour with top notch artists, a new LP, endorsement deals and major anniversary parties on both coasts.

On May 10, the Awesome 2 will debut the launch of their tour tentatively dubbed Awesome 2 Presents Hip-Hops Renaissance," at the Impact Convention, one of the music industrys largest conferences, at Disney Worlds Typhoon Lagoon in Orlando, Florida. The event will be hosted by Ed Lover and Dr. Dre. The tour to follow will feature Big Daddy Kane, Doug E. Fresh, Slick Rick, KRS 1 and other artists. Therell be roughly 20 U.S. dates including NYC, Chicago, Boston, Atlanta, Seattle and others, and an International leg is being considered.

The Awesome 2 is also planning to commence production on a new LP which will feature several established artists and some of Hip-Hops favorite producers like DJ Premiere, Rockwilder, Ron Lawrence, Teddy Riley, Pete Rock and others.

The dynamic duo is also in the process of brokering major endorsement deals to include usage of the Awesome 2 image in ad and marketing campaigns as well as possibly utilizing the theme of their 20 year anniversary (pioneers, longevity, original, classic, commitment, dedication) for all companies including clothing lines, media companies, beverage companies and others. They have already signed on with the PNB clothing line and are in discussions with other firms.

Lastly, what would an Awesome 2 Anniversary be without major parties on both coasts, to celebrate their longevity and success? The group plans on having two major parties, one in New York City and one in Los Angeles, which will draw attendees from a whos who list of music, entertainment and media personalities.
