TRILOGY LAUNCH NEW MERCURY IP COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM

Trilogy Broadcast, UK, launch innovate IP communications system at NAB 2002.

Booth L18769 NAB, Las Vegas - 8th April 2002: Developed to radically enhance the functionality of broadcast intercom and using the latest VoIP technology, Trilogy Broadcast are launching the new Mercury IP Communications System at NAB 2002.

Using innovative technology (patent pending), Mercury is a combination of engineering understanding of intercom requirements and the latest network communications technology available - providing a future proof solution to today's intercom requirements. The system will suit numerous applications - OB trucks, newsrooms, edit suites, offices, radio/tv studios, etc - allowing pc's to be used as virtual panels without adding additional hardware to workstation and control desks. The system can provide communications facilities in existing sites that have Ethernet connections without the need of additional cabling, and is capable of operating over dedicated or shared networks.

Mercury can also be used as a network interface to Trilogy Commander and Orator digital intercom systems - providing a network solution between existing digital matrix communication networks and the Mercury's VoIP Ethernet system. This is performed via Mercury equipped "Black Box 1" running appropriate application software. The same Black Box can also be used to directly interface hardware panels to the IP infrastructure or as a means of transporting multiple 4 - wire audio circuits across an IP network.
