Hawk to Be Recognized at Tonight's Third Annual Trailblazers Reception for Her Accomplishments in Raising Venture Capital in 2001
SAN FRANCISCO -- April 25, 2002 -- Sheryl Hawk, co-founder and Vice President of Business Development & Sales at Kurant Corporation, will be honored tonight by the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs (FWE) for her accomplishments in raising venture capital during 2001. Hawk's fundraising expertise has allowed Kurant Corporation, the leading provider of e-business software infrastructure for organizations that serve the small and medium-size business market, to raise more than $12 million in venture financing to date.
The Forum for Women Entrepreneurs is the premier entrepreneurial organization for women building and leading high-growth technology and life science companies. At an awards celebration this evening in Mountain View, California, FWE will honor Hawk and 36 other women entrepreneurs at its third annual Trailblazers Reception. In total, FWE member companies being recognized collectively raised over $300 million in angel, corporate or venture funding in 2001. The awards event will take place from 6:30-9:00 PM at Microsoft's Mountain View campus.
