European survey highlights importance of internal communications

Major findings of European internal communications survey come under the spotlight at a business communicators conference in May. Dr Carola Wamser, who did the research, will explain what techniques are used effectively across national boundaries and what lessons can be learnt from other countries.

UK business communicators can find out how they compare with their peers in other parts of Europe when the major findings of an internal communications survey are revealed at the CiB Conference 2002.

The Delphi study, carried out by the University of Salzburg on behalf of FEIEA, the umbrella organisation for communications associations, looked at attitudes to internal communications in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Great Britain, Portugal, Slovenia and Sweden.

It found that internal communication is becoming increasingly important and more widely recognised across the European business community.

In the opening session of the CiB Conference, Dr Carola Wamser, who did the research, and current CiB President and former FEIEA President Alan Peaford, will explain what techniques are used effectively across national boundaries and what lessons communicators can learn from other countries.

CiB Conference 2002 is organised by the British Association of Communicators in Business and takes place on 9 and 10 May at the Grand Hotel in Brighton.
