Evit Labs and NovaCal Pharmaceuticals Sign Product Development Agreement
McCLELLAN, Calif., April 25, 2002 - EVIT Labs, Inc. today announced it has signed an agreement with NovaCal Pharmaceuticals, LLC of Novato, California for the development of NovaCal's NVC-101 as an inhaled antimicrobial agent delivered to the lung by the Sonik LDI (liquid dispensing inhaler) for possible use against certain pulmonary infections and inhalation anthrax. EVIT and NovaCal intend to explore the impact of reducing the load of infectious agents within the lungs. Pulmonary infections are a major clinical concern and can be a weapon used by bio-terrorists.
The Sonik LDI is new technology platform for the sonic aerosolization of liquid pharmaceuticals, anti-bodies, proteins and peptides in a small, non-electrical, portable device.
NVC-101 is a proprietary noncytotoxic and antimicrobial solution designed and developed for the topical treatment of infected wounds
