ATX Unveils Its Presidential Command Center For State-Of-The-Art Network Monitoring

ATX, a subsidiary of CoreComm Limited (Nasdaq: COMM), a leading integrated communications provider with approximately 40,000 business customers and 400,000 consumer subscribers, recently completed the construction of its Presidential Command Center, a state-of-the-art facility designed to help proactively monitor the company's entire network throughout its footprint.

Bala Cynwyd, PA - February 20, 2002 - ATX, a subsidiary of CoreComm Limited (Nasdaq: COMM), a leading integrated communications provider with approximately 40,000 business customers and 400,000 consumer subscribers, recently completed the construction of its Presidential Command Center, a state-of-the-art facility designed to help proactively monitor the company's entire network throughout its footprint. The Command Center gives ATX vision into all parts of its voice and data network supporting Internet, Web Hosting, Private Line, Frame Relay and ATX CoreConnectsm Integrated Access customers by monitoring their network and other services, as well as allowing the company to quickly respond to connectivity and CPE (Customer Premise Equipment) device issues.

The Presidential Command Center will house Engineers, high-end Technology Managers, two Directors, and the Enterprise Services Group, comprised of Technical Assistance personnel, senior Customer Service Representatives, and Quality Assurance personnel.

"The new Presidential Command Center has increased our vision and ability to manage our customers' networks and onsite CPE by providing remote diagnostics, fault isolation, and real-time network monitoring and health, thus providing an unparalleled level of value-added service," describes Guy Fardone, ATX's Vice President of Network Services. "This system enables us to respond to customers' needs more rapidly, while proactively working to improve the quality of service and network availability we deliver to them, ultimately giving our customers a competitive advantage."

"With this facility, we can actually drill into the customer's system to see what's happening," explains Chris Canale, ATX's Director of Operations, Network Services & Integration. "Additionally, this service permits ATX to provision new services remotely, increase bandwidth and reconfigure customers' CPE, in many cases without dispatching a technician to complete the work. This not only facilitates more cost-effective service and support, but it also enables ATX to upgrade a customer's service almost instantaneously."

Furthermore, ATX's Presidential Command Center enables centralized remote video surveillance of all ATX technical operations at its various Network Operations Centers. Video cameras are installed in all switch rooms, transmission rooms, e.Business Data Centers and Network Engineering labs. Multiple cameras provide live feeds enabling the company to conduct virtual tours with customers and prospects without having to physically visit these remote locations.

The Presidential Command Center will provide manned 24x7x365 monitoring, while all service issues and alarms are tied into the company paging and e-mail systems, providing real-time notification of potential situations. "This additional benefit to the Center will be a cost-effective and customer-oriented solution to managing ATX personnel," states Canale, "while at the same time helping us guarantee a 99.99% uptime for their network availability and giving us proactive ability to solve customer issues."
