CINTEC Buys JobBOSS From K3 Business Technology Group

K3 Business Technology Group has won an order valued at 30,000 from CINTEC International Limited for the JobBOSS computerised production control system.

CINTEC has controlled the world-wide rights to the Cintec Anchoring System since 1986. The basic anchor concept originated in Germany to meet the diverse requirements of the civil engineering industry in the field of strengthening and preservation. The principal activity of the company is the design and manufacture of the CINTEC Micro Concrete and Lime Grout Anchoring and Reinforcing System.

Based in South Wales, the company has offices for its sister "Cintec" companies in the United States, Canada and Australia. Ranging from sophisticated wall ties, to solid bar anchors over thirty meters in length, the CINTEC System can be adapted to suit myriad applications. Internationally the company has dealt with such high profile projects as the Canadian Parliament Buildings in Ottawa, the Brandenburg Tower and Cathedral in Germany as well as the Empire State Building in New York. In April, 2002, the company won the prestigious Queens Award for Innovation.

The JobBOSS software is for six concurrent users running on Dell PCs. CINTEC's Chief Executive Keith Minton, commented: ?We have a manual computer system and Sage accounts. Most of our instructions are handwritten which is time consuming and prone to error. We had tried other methods for computerising our factory paperwork but to no avail. Our problem is that we don?t have standard products and components. We make reinforcing anchors comprising steel, cement and 'socks' and a typical order would have a large number of variables. Andy Sinden, a consultant    representing the Welsh Development Agency, analysed our needs and recommended JobBOSS from K3 Business Technology. We ranked the software as Best Fit for our needs regarding both specification and price."

The company is currently undergoing an extensive training programme and is loading on to the system all the data flow charts and manufacturing instructions, and it plans to go live with JobBOSS in May, 2002. "There is a huge effort going into the project by ourselves and K3 and we are excited about the potential benefits. These include superior scheduling and management reporting, greater productivity and reliable audit trails. The latter will provide trustworthy methods and processes and substantial improvements in terms of quality procedures," says Keith Minton.

The company employs 15 people in the UK but has close links with its USA and Australia operations. "With JobBOSS we now have the management tool to match the management structure in place for international growth. The project is being closely watched by our US operation who would like to implement the solution over there."
