Foedero Technologies announced today the release of FoederoCache 2.2, dynamic caching solution, and the first set in a series of upgrades to their flagship product.

Dynamic caching technology stores dynamic content to reduce the number of database calls, speed performance of highly collaborative/transactional applications and reduce the system overhead of database and application servers. The cost implications are enormous, particularly in an era where more companies are porting or investing into new web applications and are facing huge upgrade expenditures. The emphasis for most companies is to better utilize the current systems instead of purchasing new, costly equipment.

By using the FoederoCache solutions, companies obtain payback from day one since they do not have to purchase hardware upgrades, where prices can go up exponentially.... Dynamic cache maximizes the utilization of the existing system and avoids the common mistakes of trying to BUY power," says Adrian Mah, Director of Business Development. Would you rather spend less than 10% of the two million dollar hardware upgrade budget to solve the problem with caching than to continue hiding the problem under the carpet?... The choice seems obvious."

FoederoCache 2.2 still comes with the high performance gains benchmarked at 200X in response time and 4X in system overhead reduction, a whopping 800X in improvement in total. The new release offers some significant new features such as a simplified API, new and simplified cache refresh mechanism, shared cache filtering to conserve memory, cache map to cache pure objects such as audio, image, video and documents of any format, shared cache locking to give programmer more control over the caches. Probably the most important feature is the TurboDB, a new caching scheme that is installed plug and play without any programming and can be set up within hours.

Although the flexibility from using the cache API will provide the best performance, we have to address the needs of those companies using proprietary applications or could not open up the application code. TurboDB offers the best mix of high performance and ease of deployment," according to Frankie Wong, President.

Expected to be a $4.7 billion dollar industry by 2005 according to IDC, dynamic content delivery solution will soon become an integral part of the changing web infrastructure. Next to security, speed and up time are probably the most critical issues facing CIOs today, as more mission critical functions are moved onto the Internet.
