Irish Classic to screen at Los Angeles Film School

The 1959 Irish classic film, HOME IS THE HERO, is honored at the Los Angeles Film School on Sunday, May 5th. Presented by Irish Screen Los Angeles.

HOME IS THE HERO, a classic Irish film from the 1950's, is honored by Irish Screen Los Angeles this weekend with a special screening and presentation at the Los Angeles Film School.

Shot at Ardmore Studios and on location in Dublin in 1959 and based on a stage play written by Walter Macken, Home is the Hero was nominated for the Golden Bear award at the Berlin Film Festival and is one of the rarest Irish films.

Directed by Fielder Cook the film stars Walter Macken, Eileen Crowe, Arthur Kennedy, Joan O'Hara, Harry Brogan, Maire O'Donnell and
Dublin's Abbey Theatre Players.

There will be a Q & A following the screening with director Fielder Cook and Vincent Dowling the former Artistic Director of The Abbey Theatre.

The Irish Screen is a non-profit arts organization dedication to the promotion of Irish cinema to American audiences.
