FIVE TI AUTOMOTIVE PLANTS RECEIVE GM AWARD

Five TI Automotive plants in North America have won recognition for outstanding performance by GM Service Parts Operations (SPO).

WARREN, MI -- Five TI Automotive plants in North America have won recognition for outstanding performance by GM Service Parts Operations (SPO).

   The plants are all in the Midwest: in Coldwater and Hillsdale, Michigan; in Normal, Illinois; in Ashley, Indiana, and Washington Court House, Ohio. They produce brake, fuel and powertrain tubular parts for a variety of GM vehicles.

   The award cites 100 percent on-time shipping from January to December, 2001 from the five TI Automotive facilities.

All TI Automotive manufacturing operations employ a lean manufacturing philosophy called CSM (Common Sense Manufacturing), contributing to high satisfaction ratings among its customers, said Mike Vella, TI Automotives vice president for operations in North America.

TI Automotive recently won a Quest for Excellence award from Automotive Industries as a result of a survey of automotive OEMs conducted by the magazine, which monitors various aspects of the auto business.
