WK Dickson Names Two New Vice Presidents

Craig Van Dussen, ASLA, Branch Manager of the WKD Asheville office, and Scott Whalen, PE, Branch Manager of WKDs Raleigh office, have each been appointed as Vice Presidents of WK Dickson.

CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA -- W.K. Dickson & Co, Inc. (WKD) is delighted to announce that Craig Van Dussen, ASLA, Branch Manager of the WKD Asheville office, and Scott Whalen, PE, Branch Manager of WKDs Raleigh office, have each been appointed as Vice Presidents of WK Dickson.

Mr. Van Dussen has 30 years experience in all aspects of landscape architecture including extensive experience in urban and downtown master planning, recreation planning, streetscapes, residential, commercial and industrial planning and construction administration. Craig received a Bachelors Degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Georgia and he is a registered Landscape Architect in North Carolina, South Carolina and New York. Additionally, he is member of the American Society of Landscape Architects and the North Carolina Recreation and Park Society.

Mr. Whalen has more than eleven years experience on both public and private projects specializing in hydrologic and hydraulic design and analysis as they pertain to major civil projects, including detention ponds/lakes, roadway drainage, culvert design, FEMA flood studies, and combination open channel and storm drainage systems. Scott received a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University and he is a registered Professional Engineer (PE) in North Carolina, Virginia and Georgia. He holds affiliations with the American Water Works Association and the National Society of Professional Engineers. In addition he is an at-large board member of NC Water Resource Association and has recently been nominated to the APWA Stormwater Committee.

Both men will continue to serve as regional branch managers and as officers of the firm, Van Dussen and Whalen have earned the right to help shape the future of WK Dickson.
