MDCE / Home Tech Works Announce First Affiliated Dealer
SmartHomes of the Desert to handle Coachella Valley in CA and Arizona
Los Angeles, CA Monday, May 6, 2002 9:00AM EDT
Home Tech Works, (a joint venture of Media Concepts--Pink Sheets: MDCE, and Top Box Inc.) announced today the companys first affiliated dealer agreement. Home Tech Works has signed SmartHomes of the Desert to handle the entire Coachella Valley in Riverside County, California which includes the following cities, Palm Desert, Desert Hot Springs, Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage, Cathedral City, Indian Wells, Indio and La Quinta and the entire state of Arizona.
Home Tech Works CEO Erik Vidrio commented: Our business model and product offerings and their experience in the industry gives SmartHomes of the Desert a tremendous head start on generating revenue. We project they will have strong sales in custom home design and installs with prewire averaging $7000 a unit and systems sales moving into averages of $20,000-25,000 per unit. They anticipate 50% of their business will be in tract homes, with average prewire installations at $1200 and option packages at $5000 per unit. We see every indication that if all goes as planned they could break $1 million in revenue their first full year of operations."
SmartHomes of the Desert was recently founded by a large scale developer who builds custom and tract homes in these areas," continued Mr. Vidrio. We are quite pleased this developer, who has a solid track record in the residential construction industry, understands the impact of 'smart home technology on the industry and has signed our first affiliated dealer agreement. Home Tech Works will see accelerated revenue in these high-growth residential areas through SmartHomes of the Desert. This also allows us to fine tune our dealer program prior to a large scale launch."
David Heusinkveld, a builder/developer who has worked in the Coachella Valley for over 20 years, heads SmartHomes of the Desert. Having worked in this industry, I see the tremendous opportunities for these desert communities. Formerly we could call on our electricians to handle the basic low voltage needs of TV, telephone and cable. Now to create even an entry level 'smart home I need to have a company that is up to speed on the design of much more complicated prewire systems that also include data lines, high speed Internet delivery, entertainment lines, etc. Not only are the systems more complicated but the cable is also. Installers are now handling cable with very specific parameters for placement and installation. Understanding that I need this level of support to be competitive with my projects, I could easily see the application of this business to my contacts in the industry," concluded Mr. Heusinkveld.
The companys affiliated dealer program consists of supporting the local dealer with proposals suited to the prospective client. The dealer utilizes products and services developed by Home Tech Works. Home Tech Works trains and insures the dealer is able to meet installation guidelines for high-speed cable utilized in creating structural prewire systems for smart homes." The dealer will represent all products and services offered by Home Tech Works in the geographic area of their firm. These offerings include structural wiring design and installation for production and custom homes, home automation, entertainment, theater, security, lighting, and household monitoring option systems and custom residential design and installation services. All goods are then ordered through Home Tech Works. The dealers efforts will also be supported with marketing and promotional assistance from Home Tech Works.
SmartHomes of the Desert is a strong addition to our team in many ways," said Glenna Wiseman, President. We anticipate that their experience in these geographic and demographic areas will enrich our outreach and contribute in several ways to Home Tech Works, including expanding our revenue and builder customer base."
