John Lee Hooker's daughter, Zakiya, joins Peter Green Splinter Group in San Francisco

(NYC) "When the Peter Green Splinter Group plays San Francisco during their current US Tour, the daughter of the late John Lee Hooker, Zakiya Hooker, will join them on "Crawlin' King Snake", one of her father's memorable tunes and the song Peter Green has recorded for the highly anticipated Blue Storm Music release, "From Clarksdale to Heaven--Remembering John Lee Hooker."

Zakiya Hooker has recorded the song "I Want to Hug You" for the tribute album and will be sharing memories of her father in the CD's liner notes. Volume 1 also includes British legends Jeff Beck, Mick Taylor, Jack Bruce, Gary Moore and Gary Brooker. Volume II will feature many American musicians. Pete Brown, best known as Cream's lyricist, is producing both volumes.

Of special interest to John Lee's fans will be a bonus track of a previously unreleased version of Jimi Hendrix' "Red House" performed by the late John Lee Hooker, Booker T and Randy California.

John Lee Hooker lived in San Francisco and passed away there in June of 2001 so it is fitting that his daughter joins Peter Green Splinter Group here. Peter Green was a founding member of Fleetwood Mac, wrote "Black Magic Woman" and is the only Brit whos won a WC Handy Award.

They will be playing Bimbo's 365 Club on Friday, May 10th.

Blue Storm Music was founded by music industry vet Arnie Goodman, with offices in Manhattan and Florida, and is distributed worldwide via ADA in America, (the independent distribution arm of Warner Brothers), EMI in Canada and Eagle Rock Entertainment in the UK.
