MOODROOM CHOSEN FOR NXNE MUSIC FESTIVAL
Hot DC Band To Showcase At Annual Toronto Event Spotlighting Brightest New Talents

2001 has already proven to be an outstanding year for moodroom and the band are pleased to add another prominent feather to their cap. The five-piece alternative rock band from Washington, DC and NYC is among an elite group of emerging and exciting new talent tapped to showcase at the upcoming NXNE Music Festival in Toronto, Canada. The annual music industry event draws fans and record label executives from across Canada and the US to see concerts performed by the rising music stars of tomorrow. The three-day event this year will be held the weekend of June 6 -- 8; moodroom is slated to perform in the prime time slot Friday night, June 7 at the bewitching hour of midnight at the historic Cameron House (408 Queen Street West).

So far this year, moodroom has signed to Fowl Records and released their debut full length CD, Hung Up On Breathing, which has received enthusiastic reviews in influential industry publications Billboard (impressive") and CMJ New Music Weekly (insightful"). The band has been covered in numerous publications including The Village Voice, The Washington Times, The Washington Post, Time Out New York, and The New York Press. Furthermore, moodroom has been picked to perform at the prestigious annual HFStival, presented by Baltimore, MDs top radio station WHFS, over the Memorial Day weekend (moodroom will appear Sunday, May 26), and the band has performed on several TV programs including Larz From Mars" (Arlington, VA), Rockin Clubs" (NYC), MHz" (Falls Church, VA) and in the premier episode of WB TVs new music pilot Project X," due to debut nationally later this year.
