College Savings Loyalty Program Launches BabyMint 2.0

New Website Features Credit Card and Expanded Grocery Rebate Program

ATLANTA (PRWEB) May 15, 2002 -- BabyMint, Inc., the nations leading microinvesting technology company, announced today the launch of BabyMint 2.0, a dramatically enhanced version of its award-winning college savings program. Through the BabyMint program, consumers receive up to a 20% rebate on every-day purchases made through BabyMints network of more than 700 retailers and 127,000 grocery stores including, A&P, Publix, Albertsons, Winn-Dixie, and others. Retailer and grocery rebates are automatically tracked and deposited in the consumers 529 college savings plan, or any other investment vehicle of the consumers choosing. According to Financial Research Corporation, merchant and credit card rebates, such as those facilitated by BabyMint, have the potential to represent an incremental $1.1 billion per year in assets to banks and investment management firms.

In addition to a complete revision of the BabyMint website, the newly expanded program incorporates the ability for members to receive double-rebates through the use of a credit card. Accepted at more than 20 million locations worldwide, the BabyMint College Savings Credit Card features a 1% cash-back rebate, no annual fee, and no limit to the amount of rebates that can be earned by the cardholder. BabyMint 2.0 further enhances our leadership position by allowing parents and families to direct multiple rebates, from a single transaction, into any 529 plan in any state," says Peter Davis, President and Chief Executive Officer of BabyMint, Inc. No other program offers this unbiased flexibility."

For example, we recently offered a $1.25 rebate on Kelloggs Rice Krispies cereal. Now, in addition to the individual product rebate, our members will receive a cash-back rebate on their entire grocery bill. With similar rebates on dozens of products, including Listerine mouthwash, Dixie paper plates, and Lysol disinfectant, consumers can save hundreds of dollars each year on their grocery purchases alone. Depending on when a parent or grandparent enrolls in the program, BabyMint members could save tens of thousands towards the spiraling cost of higher education", according to Davis.

According to a recent study by fund management company TIAA-CREF, almost half of parents polled (48%) report they have accumulated less than one tenth or less of their anticipated educational funding needs. "Next to retirement, educational funding is one of the most difficult financial planning problems families face", says Jordan Goodman, an eighteen-year veteran of Money Magazine and author of Everyones Money Book", a best-selling book on personal finance. Clearly, BabyMint is a program every parent and grandparent should join."
