The mission of ACFC is to promote equal rights for divorced parents
because "Children Need Both Parents."

"When parents are given equal rights, equal responsibility follows," said
Dianna Thompson, Executive Vice President of ACFC. "Children don't
choose to have only one parent. The loss of a parent is bad enough, but
the child also loses the extended family of that parent too. Grandparents,
aunts, uncles and cousins, all who could have a positive impact on that child.
The Inaugural Father's Day Picnic goal is to promote shared parenting,
regardless of whether the parents are still together, affording children the
benefit of a relationship with both parents."

The Inaugural Father's Day Picnic is walking distance from METRO's
Smithsonian and Archives/Navy Memorial stations. For more information
