WASHINGTON, D.C. -- DAVID BRENNER, the ultimate
stand-up comedian, will perform in concert, for one night only,
Saturday, June 15, 2002, at The George Washington University's
Lisner Auditorium (21st & H Sts., N.W.).
The show will begin at 8 P.M.
Proceeds from this event will benefit the American Coalition for
Fathers and Children an organization dedicated to promoting
equal rights for divorced parents because it is the ACFC's belief
that a child needs both parents.
Brenner, who has appeared a record 158 times on "The Tonight
Show", returns to the nation's capital, to perform, for the first time
in many years.
Known for his razor-sharp comic instincts, Brenner's observations
and insight of popular culture have made him a fan-favorite for over
25 years. Is it any wonder he is recognized in The Book of Lists #2
as the "Number One most frequent guest on television?"
Born and reared in the tough, poor sections of South and West
Philadelphia, Brenner used his humor to advance himself. He was
elected class president in high school every year. He graduated
from Temple University with honors. After an extremely successful
career as an award-winning writer/director/producer of 115
documentary films, Brenner began performing stand-up comedy in
small clubs in New York. Eighteen months later, he made his debut
on "The Tonight Show", the appearance that launched his career.
Brenner has authored four best-selling books, starred in a successful
one-man show on Broadway, and hosted "The David Brenner Show"
on the Westwood One Entertainment radio network.
