Delphi Display Systems, Inc. announced today that it was awarded a three-year exclusive contract by CKE Restaurants, Inc. to supply Order Confirmation Systems technology for all company owned Carls Jr. and Hardee's drive through restaurants.

Delphi Display Systems Awarded Three Year Exclusive Contract from CKE Restaurants, Inc.
COSTA MESA, CA -- May 9, 2002 -- Delphi Display Systems, Inc. announced today that it was awarded a
three-year exclusive contract by CKE Restaurants, Inc. (CKE") (NYSE: CKR) to supply Order Confirmation
System (OCS") technology for all company owned Carls Jr. and Hardees drive through restaurants. This
technology integrates advanced digital video electronics with state-of-the-art sunlight readable color liquid
crystal display (LCD") technology to improve the efficiency of fast food drive through operations. We are
very excited to be selected as the exclusive supplier of OCS technology to Carls Jr. and Hardees
restaurants," said Ken Neeld, Delphis President and CEO. This technology will allow CKE to continue to
improve their drive through business and help provide a better experience for their customers."
Located at the order point in the drive through lane, the OCS visually confirms customers orders to improve
accuracy and speed of service. Additionally, the OCS functions as a digital marketing medium by displaying
full color, high resolution, point of purchase images. Other benefits include access to hearing-impaired
customers, bridging language barriers, and employee theft reduction.
