Newport Beach, CA -- May 25, 2002 -- Trikke Tech, an Orange County-based company that designs, patents and produces unique recreation and transportation vehicles, today announces the availability of its totally new sports, fun and fitness machine: the Trikke.8.

The patented Trikke technology (US Patent Number 6,220,612) is at the heart of this revolutionary three-wheeled vehicle that uses the energy and motion of the rider to propel the Trikke forward. It weighs only 17 pounds and its handlebar height is fully adjustable to accommodate children, teens and adult riders. The Trikke.8 is constructed from aircraft-grade aluminum, and features no-maintenance 8-inch polyurethane wheels with dual independent rear brakes. The Trikke easily folds to a very compact size which makes it convenient to carry or transport.

Almost everyone that sees the Trikke in motion is immediately amazed and intrigued-- no matter what their age," says Trikke Techs President, John Simpson. The first questions people usually ask when they first see it are: 'Wheres the motor on that thing? and 'What makes it go?

The first of a family of products, the Trikke.8 doesnt have a motor, even though it seems to propel itself without any effort by the rider. To make it go, the rider simply uses a natural and intuitive combination of whole-body movements. Basically, it involves the shifting of the riders weight from side-to-side and accelerating through a pattern of small turns while the Trikke moves forward along an S-shaped path. The riders feet never need to touch the ground. The normal cruising speed of the Trikke is about 12 mph, and speeds of 18 mph or more are not difficult to reach.

Were developing a family of products that are totally unique, and cater to each individual riders desired type of experience," says Trikke Techs Chief Technology Officer, Gildo Beleski; Whether you are a young adult seeking a truly unique and thrilling ride, or a seasoned athlete looking to supplement your cardiovascular activity and strength-building, the Trikke is an ideal solution."

In addition to fun and fitness, Trikke offers unsurpassed stability and safety due to its three-wheeled design. Whether the Trikke is moving forward, making a tight turn, or standing still, the rider is always perfectly balanced with all three wheels in contact with the ground. The independent braking system helps keep the rider in complete control.

Already popular with many skateboard, bicycle, and health & fitness enthusiasts, the Trikke.8 is a vehicle that compels the rider to get outdoors and enjoy the Trikke experience. I was especially impressed with how many different muscles are involved with the movement. I particularly noticed my inner and outer thighs, glutes, upper back and the back of my arms really heating up... I also discovered that the Trikke conditions and tones the upper body... Everyone that I recommend the Trikke.8 to says the same thing: 'They love it! Thank you for inventing such a safe, fun and effective product." wrote Gary Ackerman, ASCM Certified Health & Fitness Instructor, Sarasota, Fl.

The Trikke.8 comes in polished aluminum with the choice of red, blue, green or black trim, and is available online at www.trikke.com for $299. It is also available through a growing network of select dealers, mostly in Southern California.
