Post-September 11, we are a more caring nation. We've re-assessed our values and are more cognizant of what we surround ourselves with. We are somewhat different and so there is no better time to go somewhere different. Lexi has the spirit to take us on that journey, where relationships meet emotions, and then come together in a spirituality so uplifting, it can only be represented properly in glorious song. Thus the title of Lexi's new album on Real Deal Records, Somewhere Different. Lexi herself takes her music somewhere different. She delivers a savvy set of tunes that includes the influences of Gospel, Pop and R&B. And that's part of the appeal - her music is so universal because it is ensconced in a variety of genres.

BRENT JONES & THE T. P. MOBB: BEAUTIFUL
www.TPMOBB.com

Purchase now at: www.cdnow.com

Brent Jones is one of a handful of gospel artists seriously working the hip-hop sound. While churches have been reluctant to embrace this gospel style, the reception in the secular world has been a good deal more upbeat and enthusiastic. Jones, a Southern California native, is a gifted composer and arranger, and his message is as consistently praiseful as any other style of gospel. His music will find its way into church in due course. Despite Jones' reputation as a gospel rap pioneer, Beautiful isn't actually track-after-track of rap. Hip-hop is closely aligned with the new R&B sound, and Jones is clearly as comfortable writing in the R&B style as he is doing the gospel rap thing. "Something Beautiful," "Closer," "Holy Ghost High" and "I Can't Take My Eyes Off You" are thoroughly in the R&B vein, and are, in fact, terrific examples of the fusion of gospel sentiment and today's rhythm and blues grooves. When Jones and his Mobb do get down on a rap number, as with "I'm So Rich," they buy into it completely. This number is so purely urban that it's nearly dub ragga, but it's the only time on the album that Jones goes there. Beautiful is almost entirely in the R&B mode, and, it must be said: Jones' arrangements are fabulous, his vocalists sing with power and great feel, and his material is very mainstream. This is an excellent second release for Brent Jones and the T.P. Mobb.

LEON LACEY & LIV
( www.zemimusic.com/ecard/leonlacey2)

Hidden Beach/Jill Scott Investor and Multi-Million Dollar Steel Company Owner goes GOSPEL?!
Exciting details about a HOT new Gospel Group!

Leon Lacey & LIV ( www.zemimusic.com/ecard/leonlacey2) is an accomplished group of New York City-based singers and instrumentalists that have conquered what is often referred to as the "Gospel Underground."

Twenty-three-year-old Lacey is one of those rare, once-in-a-lifetime music impresarios whose sheer brilliance serves to separate him from the pack. Having written a catalog of over 250 songs, ranging from gospel, to Christian, to R&B, to pop tunes, Leon has already established a name for himself in the creative music circles. In fact, one of his tunes, "Ain't Nobody Like Jesus," was recorded and released by Verity/Zomba Recording artist Hezekiah Walker. All of Lacey's songs, especially those that are sung and performed by the members of his LIV troupe, are filled with his signature style and flow.

Leon Lacey and LIV have performed throughout the US and Europe, with such artists as Michael Jackson (2001 at Madison Square Garden), Kirk Franklin & God's Property, Mary Mary, Hezekiah Walker, Fred Hammond, Karen Clark-Sheard, Yolanda Adams and Pras of the Fugees, just to name a few.

And the list of Leon Lacey music lovers keeps on growing. Leon's self-produced and distributed debut project has already sold over 7,500 units in the New York City metro area alone.

Lacey's career is steered by long time music enthusiast, Andrew Dennen, owner/President of Dennen Steel Corp. and founder/co-owner of Zemi Music. Through Dennen's leadership and vision to develop and implement niche-driven strategies, Dennen Steel has succeeded as one of the leaders in the mid-sized independent Steel companies.

Satisfied with the success of Dennen Steel, Dennen felt it was time to renew his first love by pursuing a multi-pronged approach to the music business. Starting as an investor/partner in the Santa Monica based Hidden Beach Recordings (Grammy award-winning /platinum selling recording artist Jill Scott). Andy is now using his strategic and operating experience gained as a "David" against "Goliaths" with his own music production company, Zemi Music.

SEEK4HIM.COM ANNOUNCES ITS NEW CHRISTIAN SEARCH ENGINE

Fax: 443-238-0461
Email: joe@seek4him.com

Seek4Him.Com announced the general online availability of its new Search Engine for Christians. The new search engine is available online at http://www.seek4him.com. Unlike most Christian search engines and links pages, Seek4Him.Com provides search results based on the "pay-for-position" model. On most Christian web directories and portals, a search for "christian music" would return over 50,000 randomly or alphabetically listed results, formatted 20 to a page. Alternatively, Seek4Him.Com displays website listings determined by the websites who bid for their position in the list, and only pay when they click on that keyword listing and visit the site. Websites bid based on the relevance of their site to the search keywords, potentially saving hours of futile searching through non-relevant sites. "Almost all of the major portals including AOL, Netscape, Yahoo, AltaVista and MSN have embraced 'pay-for-position' featured results as a part of their search results", said Joe Bartling, CEO of Seek4Him.Com. "It was just a matter of time for the online Christian community to grow large enough to demand these search services on our websites, instead of static Christian directories and Christian site lists".

FEATURED UNSIGNED ARTIST
Changes - LeJune Travis

Since the young tender age of 2 years old, La June Travis has been utilizing her vocal gift given to her by God. Growing up in the city of Detroit, the eldest of 9 musically gifted and talented children, she still holds on to the principles taught to her by her parents, Annette Bates and the late Alonzo Bates Jr. Her parents, who sang as well, were very instrumental in allowing La June to travel around the world at a very young age and sing praises unto God. In her teen years, she was very involved in the City of Detroit's Performing Arts program, which was headed by veteran performing artist Kim Weston along with Teddy Harris, Jazz Extraordinare. La June was also a part of several groups and choirs around the city such as The Jr. Volinairs, while her uncle was an original part of the Legendary Original Volinairs, The Christian Jubilees, and a group that consisted of all her siblings called "Gifted". La June's husband, Marvin Travis Jr., plays guitar for her, and has been very instrumental in La June's career as well. La June considers him the best guitarist in the world! He has supported her with his musical talents, as well as his encouragement, through the years. La June's strong commitment to using her gift exclusively for God has placed her where she is today, and allowed her to keep the anointing God has placed on her life. Her writing and vocal gifts are next to none. She believes that music is a spiritual weapon, which can be utilized for Deliverance, Encouragement, Guidance and Direction. She is committed to give to her audiences what God gives to her, the same way he gives it to her. This includes the lyrics as well as the music. La June expresses that each instrument has a job to do. Therefore, the lyrics and music must work as a team to accomplish its task. As La June shared her gift with those locked up behind prison bars, and those that were confined to nursing homes, she was inspired to release her debut CD, entitled Changes. Her prayer is that God will minister to those that will listen, through the ministry of music and song.

MARKETING/PUBLICITY EFFORTS ONLINE

By: Veda Brown, Internet Marketing Publicist - Veda300@aol.com

All of your marketing/publicity efforts should work together. If not, you are wasting time and money. Use your marketing and publicity efforts via online E-ZINES to brand your company/artist, support your web site, to grow your mailing list, to ultimately, move your product (sell more than 10 CD's). Remember, if you don't move product you aren't in business. Anytime you are planning your marketing/publicity campaign, ask yourself if this will help you move product and/or get people to your concerts (where you can sell CDs, t-shirts, etc.). Count the cost... calculate the e-zine subscribers times .34 cents... the cost of a stamp plus what it would cost for paper & envelopes. Compare that total to the cost of sending an online gospel e-zine. What do you have to lose? Approximately 20% of the subscribers on a gospel e-zine are subscribers to gospel magazines. Therefore, the other 80% depend on gospel e-zines, gospel websites or gospel radio for the latest in gospel news. Can they count on you? Are they reading about your artist in this e-zine? If not, why not? Wonder how Kirk Franklin sold over 90,000 in the first week of the release of "The Rebirth" CD? The label used every marketing tool available including this GOSPEL E-Zine. What are you using? :-)
