Its possible thanks to digital technology and a unique concept in the area of caricature art created by artist Ben Percic. Its a humorous, interactive birthday animation with a wild and crazy story, full of all the bells and whistles, sound and actions. Best of all, the person celebrating their birthday will be very surprised to find that they are the 'star in their very own, very cool, cartoon animation.

Heres how it works: First, a hand-drawn caricature is made of the birthday guy or girl based on photographs sent by regular mail or email. The caricature is then digitally recreated, enhanced, adjusted and custom-edited in the animation software. The birthday persons name and cartoon is placed in the birthday greeting and - Voila! - a unique birthday gift for someone special.

A permanent record of the animated birthday cartoon starring your birthday pal is recorded on a CD-ROM, saved at a hi-resolution (300 dpi) in three formats (.gif, .tif, .bmp). This means the animated caricature can be viewed over and over. You can also print the digital caricature on a bubblejet or go to a print shop and print it poster-size. The hi-resolution digital caricature is also ready to be used in Web Pages, E-Cards, E-mails, Wallpapers, Newsletters, T-shirts, Posters and more. The fun is only as limited as your imagination.

Ben Percic, a graduate of Fanshawe College and the University of Western Ontario, has been drawing professionally as a caricature artist, cartoonist and humorous illustrator for over 12 years.
