Authors Chris Moyer and Bob Bowers Release Advanced FileMaker Pro 5.5 Techniques for Developers with Wordware Publishing, ISBN 1-55622-859-7

Noted veterans of the FileMaker Pro development community, Chris Moyer and Bob Bowers, of Chris Moyer Consulting, have released their new book, Advanced FileMaker Pro 5.5 Techniques for Developers (ISBN: 1-55622-859-7), with Wordware Publishing. This book is the first of three upcoming titles from them in the Wordware Developers Library.

Chicago, IL -- May 28, 2002 -- Noted veterans of the FileMaker Pro development community, Chris Moyer and Bob Bowers, of Chris Moyer Consulting, have released their new book, Advanced FileMaker Pro 5.5 Techniques for Developers (ISBN: 1-55622-859-7), with Wordware Publishing. This book is the first of three upcoming titles from them in the Wordware Developers Library.

Targeted at the more than 7 million users of FileMaker Pro worldwide, the book covers detailed topics including relational theory, data modeling, security, audit trails, recursive relationships, advanced portal tricks, and script control techniques in depth. Gleaned from a decade of experience, the book will ground FileMaker developers in the skills necessary for building complex applications.

The second book in the series, Advanced FileMaker Pro Web Development (ISBN: 1-55622-860-0), will cover all aspects of web publishing with FileMaker Pro, including sections on Filemaker Dynamic Markup Language, PHP and Lasso (middleware solutions that tie dynamic data in FileMaker to the Web), integration with Dreamweaver MX, implementing a RAIC, Java, JavaScript, XML, and conducting secure web transactions with SSL. The third book, Advanced FileMaker Integrated Applications (ISBN: 1-55622-861-9) will cover a variety of methods for integrating FileMaker with other technologies, including ODBC, Visual Basic, AppleScript, Microsoft Terminal Server, and other Macromedia technologies including Macromedia Flash MX.

Chris Moyer and Bob Bowers are among the leading FileMaker journalists and consultants in the United States. Moyer was the Midwest sales engineer and technical resource in Chicago for Claris Corporation (which later became FileMaker, Inc.) from 1991 to 1994. Moyer is the author of FileMaker Pro: Special Edition Using FileMaker Pro 3 for Macintosh, published by Que in 1996. Chris and Bob have co-authored the Ask Advisor column for FileMaker Advisor magazine where they also act as technical and contributing editors.
