Caregivers Protest

Caregivers of elderly residents in Maricopa County, Arizona are being told that payments for their services will be changed, but no explanations or comments have been given.

On Friday, May 31 between 11:00 and 12:00 at 2444 E. University, Finance & Reception
Maricopa Managed Care complex, Adult Foster Care Sponsors (home owners) will be gathering to protest a recent change in the processing system which delays payment for services rendered to elderly residents. Before this change, AFC sponsors had to wait 45 days to be paid. With the change, it will be closer to 60 days.

We have been unable to get an answer as to why this change was made. The payment for this care is small enough, without waiting the addition 2 weeks, to get it.

We hope to gain some publicity, and hopefully force an answer to our questions. We are licensed by the Foundation for Senior Living (602) 285-0505, but they have not been able to get acceptable answers either. So, we, the AFC sponsors, feel that it is necessary to make ourselves more visible. Can you help us to do that? It is the month to take care of our seniors !
