City of Toronto Emergency Medical Services Select AVeL-TECH For Its Vehicular Application and Message Switch

The City of Toronto Purchasing and Materials Division has awarded AVeL-TECH a contract to supply the Toronto Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Department with MobiCAD (vehicular application) and RadioGATE (message switch). MobiCAD is a MS-Windows 2000 based application that incorporates on-board mapping, messaging, and field reporting. RadioGATE is the message switch for wireless data transmissions over the data network. Along with Urgences-Santé (Montreal Ambulances), AVeL-TECH is now servicing the two largest EMS Agencies in Canada.

Toronto EMS is the largest municipal Emergency Medical Service in Canada with a fleet of 163 vehicles and it provides 24-hour pre-hospital emergency and non emergency care and transportation to and between hospitals for ill or injured individuals.

Along with Urgences-Santé (Montreal Ambulances), AVeL-TECH is now servicing the two largest EMS Agencies in Canada.

Toronto EMS serves a population of over two and half million citizens for the entire Toronto region and answers an average of 42,000 calls per month.
