Technocrats Consulting: Publishes White Papers on Handheld Devices in Healthcare

Paging all Doctors, Handheld Devices are now on call.

Chicago, IL June 2002 - Handheld devices have become are useful tools in the medical community. They are now being used to capture patient data, lab reports, and medical imaging. But as useful as handheld devices are there has been confusion as to what handheld is best for the different medical departments. Should Palm OS be used for patient records or Pocket PC devices? Can handheld devices be integrated into existing medical databases and the internet to allow healthcare professionals remote access to patient information? To answer some of these questions Technocrats Consulting has published two white papers on using handheld devices in healthcare.

The first white paper Using Handheld Devices in Medical Imaging" looks at the different handheld devices such as Palm OS, Pocket PC, Pen Tables, and traditional Laptops. How they can be used in medical imaging such as DICOM, CT, MRI, PET, and other image file. Used in Radiology, Cardiology, Mammography, and other medical applications.

The second white paper Using Handheld Devices in Healthcare" is an overview of handheld devices, traditional PCs and laptops and how they can be used to create a mobile medical system. The white paper also examines the different wireless LAN/WAN systems that can be used to integrate exisiting medical systems such as patient records, lab reports, drug interactions and other patient information.

Both white papers are written in plain English to provide a clear road map for IT professionals, Administrators, or Doctors who want to take full advantage of the mobility that handheld devices can provide.
