North American Journalism Contest Winners Announced"

TORONTO, Canada- matrix produxions and On The Wall are pleased to announce Brian Chick as one of three candidates chosen from a profusion of applicants for the North American wide journalism contest both companies held this past March.

Katya Diakow and Stephanie Silliker join Chick as the broadcast journalism team for U On The Wall, a 13-part investigative current affairs series targeting youth (18-25) matrix and On The Wall are co-producing. The content for this series will be distributed via broadcast television, Internet and wireless appliances.

Nominated as part of The Toronto Star team for a National Newspaper Award and the Michener Award for Public Service in Journalism, U On The Wall reporter Brian Chick is entering his fourth year of Ryerson Universitys journalism program. A competitive athlete and accomplished musician, Brian grew up in Boston, MA and Albany, NY.

Katya Diakow, a recent graduate of Carleton Universitys journalism program is fluent in English, French and Ukrainian. Her achievements include internships with Canadian national broadcaster, Global Television News and the Standard, a local newspaper in St. Catharines, Ontario.

Stephanie Silliker is entering her third year of Ryerson Universitys journalism program. Stephanie volunteers with Rogers Cable and The Scarborough Mirror; local media outlets in Ontario. In 2001, Stephanie participated in her high school volunteer program to assist the poorest communities of Jamaica.
