New Forecasts for the International Kaolin Industry

Forecasts for the world kaolin* market show that global production will grow over 3% from 31.2 million tonnes in 2002 to 32.3 million tonnes in 2005. World consumption of Kaolin will be worth US$ 4.05 billion by 2005.

Forecasts for the world kaolin* market show that global production will grow over 3% from 31.2 million tonnes in 2002 to 32.3 million tonnes in 2005. World consumption of Kaolin will be worth US$ 4.05 billion by 2005. In a new report by business information publishers, Gobi International, the global kaolin market is comprehensively reviewed with forecasts to 2005.

The findings of the report show that the major producers of kaolin are the USA and the United Kingdom. Their combined production output accounts for 43% of global production. They also remain the leading exporters of kaolin, while Japan and Finland are the main importers.

Consumption of kaolin is most concentrated in Europe, accounting for 36% of total world consumption.

Asia is experiencing the most consistent growth, with an average increase of 2% per annum.
