Haddon Heights, New Jersey-June 5, 2002-Media and press relations representatives can control the product review process with Press Test Service (PTS) from Advanced Information Concepts, Inc. (AIC). PTS provides private technology product testing, which gives representatives expert evaluation of their products' documentation, support, and performance quality. This unprecedented service allows a pre-launch opportunity to identify and eliminate any problems which could result in less-than-stellar trade press reviews.

AIC's staff of experienced Press Test reviewers examine submitted products, evaluate supporting documents for effectiveness and clarity, and write a detailed review upon completion of the process. This allows media and press relations representatives to effectively position products and decide how best to prioritize testing and review requests from industry publications.

With areas of expertise including Web-based applications and Windows, Linux, Macintosh, Solaris, and Novell operating systems, AIC's Press Test Service reviewers can evaluate a broad spectrum of technologies in their fully-networked lab, including:

·   Consumer hardware, peripherals and software
·   Network hardware and operating environments
·   Security hardware
·   Wireless network equipment
·   Network management and distributed applications
·   Web development tools
·   .NET development tools
·   J2EE development tools and application servers
·   Security and AV products
·   Object and relational databases
·   Security management products

Oliver Rist, AIC CIO, notes, "Press Test gives media representatives an inside look at how editors and reviewers will experience their products. Small changes can yield great improvements in published reviews. These 'preview reviews' remain one of the best ways to build a positive image and visibility for a product."

PTS offers three levels of testing:
·   Publication Press Test-includes evaluation of the product's acquisition process, usability, features, performance and documentation, including press materials such as accompanying releases and reviewers' guides. Results are presented in review article format, with a supplemental report detailing suggestions for improvement.
·   Press Test Tour-offers the Publication Press Test service along with a strategic plan for supporting the product's press campaign.
·   Beta Press Test-focuses on new product development. Beta Press Test provides full feature evaluation, relative performance testing, and bug reporting in accordance with client specifications. At the end of the review cycle, AIC submits an evaluation with all testing results and recommendations. AIC's editorial experts and technical writers can also produce a market-ready reviewers' guide during the evaluation process.

"Bad reviews create major headaches for media and PR representatives. They can lower a product's market share, and the client always demands to know what went wrong. Often bad reviews result from a misunderstanding of the product's capabilities, and poor supporting documentation," Gerald Williams, AIC President, explained. "Press Test provides a 'dress rehearsal', giving media and press reps the opportunity to ensure that the product ships with the support, quality, and documentation that will generate positive publicity and maximum visibility."
