Recycled Athletic Flooring -- a Winning combination
Taunton Recycler Unveils New Athletic Flooring

DATELINE: TAUNTON, MA. JUNE 6, 2002... SelecTech, Inc. a Taunton-based recycler and manufacturer of high-quality products made from plastic scrap announces the availability of Athletic Flooring for fitness centers, dance studios, gymnasiums, schools and other facilities. SelecTech, Inc. a $3 million recycling company that uses approximately 4 million pounds of scrap plastic annually is headquartered at 15 Fourth Street in Taunton, MA.

A cost-effective, easy-to-install alternative to the typical maple gymnasium floors, SelecTechs athletic floors are comprised of SelecTiles, which have an innovative interlocking edge system. The interlocking edges remove the need to glue or nail the tiles down, which greatly decreases the cost of installation.

Solution for Damaged Floors
The SelecTiles can be installed directly over damaged floors and are resistant to most solvents and chemicals. SelecTiles do not require polyurethane or routine waxing. At six pounds per tile, the SelecTile floating floor system has the mass to remain fixed in position even with heavy traffic and abuse.

Flooring Prototype
SelecTechs athletic flooring was recently installed in a 3,000 square foot court at Golds Gym in Dartmouth, MA.

According to Saul Friedman, Golds Gym owner, We were about to renovate our floor and maple was our first choice until we heard about SelecTechs athletic floors.
Because SelecTechs flooring did not require nails or glue, we were able to install it ourselves in a day and a half and it cost us half of what we would have paid for a new maple floor."

He continued, Were very pleased with SelecTechs floor. Its highly durable and can withstand multiple basketball tournaments as well as three to four aerobic classes per day. There is ¾" rubber under the floor to absorb shock and the floor is easily maintained with soap and water. Its the ideal athletic floor."

Extremely Durable, High Traffic Flooring
SelecTile flooring tiles are manufactured from recycled PVC materials and are formulated to be used in a variety of heavy duty commercial/industrial applications, including schools, stores, warehouses, airports and athletic facilities, among others.

Because our product is not installed with adhesives, it eliminates the possibility of future problems, such as moisture. Depending on the style of floor, our athletic flooring delivers significant cost savings of approximately 20-50% because installation time is cut in half and can be done by the customer themselves if they choose to," explained Thomas Ricciardelli, founder and president of SelecTech, Inc.

Promoting Recycling
Chosen as the 1998 Massachusetts Manufacturing Recycler of the Year" by the Massachusetts Recycling Coalition, SelecTech converts a negative to a positive through their efficient reprocessing innovations that effectively reduce the amount of scrap plastic in landfills. Their patented technology allows significant savings to be passed on to manufacturers, retailers, distributors and end users.

Currently, SelecTech is a recycling partner of DuPont Flooring Systems and manufactures recycled floor tiles for the commercial/industrial market. SelecTech also manufactures recycled plastic planters and whiskey barrels for WorldWise distributors.

The Recycling Wave of the Future
SelecTech, Inc., a $3 million recycling company that uses approximately 4 million pounds of scrap plastic annually, helps companies determine if their plastic scrap is recyclable-then converts it to high-quality, high-value products for resale.

SelecTech strives to provide consumers with the safest and most durable products available. The companys line of recycled products includes SelecTimber for landscapes and playgrounds, SelecStops and SelecBumps traffic control products, in addition to their own line of commercial and industrial flooring, SelecTile. By using 100% recycled plastic in the products, there are no toxic additives (such as arsenic which is found in pressure treated lumber) and a significant amount of plastic scrap in landfills is eliminated. SelecTech utilizes an injection molding manufacturing process, which enables the company to produce three-dimensional shapes and a wide variety of products.

Founded in 1994, SelecTech Inc. is a recycling solutions provider and manufacturer of high-quality products made from plastic scrap. In addition to SelecTile, SelecTech supplies a range of other high-quality, recycled content products including SelecTimber and outdoor garden and yard furnishings. SelecTech is committed to delivering a high degree of satisfaction to the end-users of their products, and they are a premier provider of innovative, tangible solutions to companies that have problems disposing of the plastic scrap they generate or collect.
