AURORA, OH: Network Technologies Inc (NTI) today announced the newest addition to their popular line of USB KVM switches. The USB Matrix KVM Switch allows up to eight users to individually command or simultaneously share up to 32 USB-enabled computers using USB keyboards, USB mice and VGA monitors. This switch supports any USB-enhanced computer, including the following:

-SUN Blade 100s, 1000s, SUN Rays and Sun Fire 280Rs. SUN extra keys are emulated on USB keyboards with Windows keyboard layouts.
-PCs with USB ports
-MAC G3/G4s. Supports Mac soft (keyboard) power-on capability.

The ST-nXm-USBV-U switch features NTI's patented USB electronic autoboot technology, allowing users to boot all attached computers in one operation. (Other USB KVM switches require individual, sequential boot-up.) USB host computers and USB devices can be hot-plugged or removed at any time, and the switch can be powered-down without having to reboot the attached computers.

Users can choose the USB keyboard layout they prefer (PC, MAC or SUN) to control all attached computers. Keystroke translation and special key emulation are programmed into the switch. The switch can also recognize international keyboard layouts, or a layout code can be programmed manually. Any USB device (keyboard and/or mouse) can be utilized to control any attached USB host computer. The switch supports most USB keyboards and mice, including USB Intellimouse®.

Matt Bolton, sales associate at NTI, reports that "This switch was developed based on customer requests for a powerful, easy-to-use USB Matrix KVM switch." Standard features include:

-Four operation modes (Scan Mode, Broadcast Mode, Command Mode and Sharing Mode) provide flexible control of all attached computers.

-Matrix Control Software with Graphical User Interface (GUI) control provides users with fast control of up to 15 NTI switches, using an RS232 connection. This software allows users to view and control multiple switches simultaneously with three unique and powerful views (Matrix View, Table View or Line View). It automatically displays views for all attached NTI switches each time the program is started. A Save-and-Load feature allows up to nine configurations to be saved to and loaded from the switch's internal memory.

-Advanced On-Screen Display (OSD) user interface with password security makes the ST switch simple and reliable to use in Enterprise data centers.

-Dedicated microprocessors prevent CPUs from locking up for reliable control.

-Rackmount (some models are also available in a desktop case).

The required VGA multiscan monitor is connected by a standard 15HD VGA type connector. User devices, including USB PS/2, Mac and Sun keyboards, and USB mouse (including USB Intellimouse) are connected through a female USB Type A connectors; computers are attached through a female USB Type B connectors. Prices range from $1,200 to $9,995, and the switch is immediately available. Additional information is available at www.nti1.com/srvsw-usbvst-u.html
