Network Technologies Inc (NTI) today announced that the testing center at Sun Microsystems has verified the compatibility of their new Universal USB KVM switches with Sun USB computers. The KEEMUX-USBV-nU controls up to 32 USB-enabled computers with one USB keyboard, USB mouse and VGA monitor.

The KEEMUX-USBV-nU controls up to 32 USB-enabled computers with one USB keyboard, USB mouse and VGA monitor. Users can boot all attached computers in one operation, thanks to NTI?s patented USB electronic autoboot technology. (Other USB KVM switches require individual, sequential boot-up.) This switch supports any USB computer, including the following:
-SUN Blade 100, 1000, SUN Ray and Sun Fire 280R?. SUN extra keys are emulated on USB keyboards with Windows keyboard layouts.
-PCs with USB ports
-MAC G3/G4s. Supports Mac soft (keyboard) power-on capability.

Recent improvements to the 2-port KEEMUX-USBV-2U include a durable, compact case (WxDxH = 5.2 x 4.25 x 1.25 inches) and Broadcast Mode for easy control, at an affordable price of US$245. All models feature crisp and clear 1900x1200 video resolution, supported at a bandwidth of 150 MHz. Internal microprocessors provide error-free emulation of keyboard and mouse 100% of the time. Users select the desired CPU channels with the front-panel pushbuttons or with hot-keys. Keyboard and mouse are hot-pluggable - with no need to power-cycle the switch. The required VGA multiscan monitor is connected by a standard 15HD VGA type connector. User devices, including USB PS/2, Mac and Sun keyboards, and USB mouse (including USB Intellimouse) are connected through a female USB Type A connector; computers are attached through a female USB Type B connector.
